Honoring Our Heroes: The Story Behind Our Veterans Wall
At The Landing at Frisco, we cherish the incredible lives of our residents and the values they hold dear. One of our most heartfelt projects has been the creation of our Veterans Wall, a tribute to the brave men and women who have selflessly served our nation.
This special idea came to life through the dedication of our Activities Director, our Memory Care Director, Allison Considine from Love Well Hospice, and Janet Ballard from Right at Home, Home Health. Allison and Janet have a long history of sponsoring Veteran Walls in other communities, and when they shared their passion with us, we knew we had to bring it to The Landing.
From start to finish, this was a labor of love. The process was fun, strategic, and deeply meaningful. It was an experience that brought our team and community even closer. The project started with a photo shoot, capturing our veterans as they proudly posed for their portraits. Seeing their joy and pride in these moments was truly humbling.
Allison and Janet provided everything we needed: beautiful lettering, military branch emblems, elegant frames, and the American flag, a powerful symbol of patriotism. With the help of our Plant Operations Director, we put everything together, and in just three hours, our Veterans Wall was ready for its grand reveal.
The unveiling was nothing short of special. Residents, families, and staff gathered to admire this meaningful tribute. The response has been overwhelming; our veterans often stop by to reflect on their service, and families have shared their deep appreciation for a space that honors such an important part of their loved ones’ lives.
But this wall is more than pictures and symbols. It represents strength, courage, and sacrifice. It’s also a promise to future residents who have served: Your dedication will always be recognized and celebrated here.
At The Landing, we are honored to carry on this tradition of respect, love, and unity.
To our veterans: thank you for your service.
To our residents and families: thank you for sharing your stories with us.
And to Allison, Janet, and everyone who made this possible: thank you for your heart and dedication.
Our Veterans Wall is a powerful reminder of what community and collaboration can accomplish; it is also a lasting tribute to those who have given so much.
